Mumbai... A city where dreams come true!!!! Thats what all the film stars say. And what i say is, "thats true". It was like a dream for me, to go places, wander in the streets aimlessly, talk to unknown people, live my life my way. So for once i believed these film stars and went to Mumbai to fulfill my silly stupid dream. That is the main reason for my visit to mumbai and of course my cousin also asked me to visit Mumbai, so that is another reason.
What i did in Mumbai: Njoyed....That's the only term that comes to my mind.
I ate: Cheesy Mysore Masala Dosa on the road opposite...errr.... methibai college...?? some college..not sure about the name. Thanks to my cousin.
I Wandered: All the way from colaba to churchgate. Girl's never understand directions!!!! I took a local from andheri to churchgate, then a taxi from churchgate to colaba. Wandering aimlessly in colaba, i again reached curchgate station on foot. Then i realized.. "Ohh,.. I didn't see the gateway!!!" Again i took a taxi from churchgate to colaba to see the gateway :)
Late Night walks: Brandstand...and Carter Road... The first was awesome, the latter was a little boring. Again, thanks to my cousin.
Other Places: Hiranandaani... Mahalaxmi temple.. Haji Ali... Banganga.... Cadbury house.. Mannat... and so on
Special Experiences: Local Train. I just loved it. One of the best mode of inter city transport i have ever seen. Yes, it is crowded, but its just fun. No waiting for hours together for the bus to arrive, No Traffic Jam...and no tension of getting into the wrong bus. My best experience was evening 5:30 local from churchgate to andheri. Ladies compartment..Standing on one feet :)
Tips i got from people on how to get down from the local: If you have to get down at andheri, start moving from your place when the train is at dadar station, in case you are sitting in the 1st seat near the door. Dadar is 4 stops away from andheri. Slowly ask every person in front of you as to where they will get down. Once you reach the person who says they will get down at andheri, stand behind them. When your stop comes, "Focus". All your attention should be in going straight out of the door, else you might end up going in the reverse direction. hehe..
My Favorite Place: One is Brandstand. It is just an awesome place to walk. So calm...so serene...
Second is Haji Ali. I just fell in love with the walk-way to haji ali. Water on both side and a small path on which you are walking, the waves come and hit the path, the mild sound of the waves. No metal barriers No human barriers!!!! Its like you are magically walking on water.
And last but not the least, people there are busy with their life, but when you ask for help they never mislead you.
All in all a wonderful place and wonderful experience.
