Books

I have been reading books from quiet a long time. When people ask me which kinds of book do you like, I say, "There should be a murder within the first 50 pages of the book". Instantly, I can see a cloud on their head with the words "Criminal minded" written in it. Well, what’s wrong in reading such books, after all even the cop needs to think like a criminal to know their next move?

Truly speaking, the age of good murder mysteries is long gone. Seems like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie have covered every plot. Currently it is the age of fiction. Sometimes to avoid "Criminal Minded" scenes, I say that I like Fiction. Now people ask me what kind of Fiction?? 6 out of 10 authors who write fiction write about the "end of world".  And the other 4 are related to some cult. Now is that my mistake?? Again the spooky looks :(

Well, on the contrary I do like to read such books which depict the end of world in their own way. You can see how far a human imagination can fly. James Rollins, in his black order saves the world from Heisenberg uncertainty principle and in Doomsday he saves the mankind from the genetically-modified plants. Dan Brown is always struck  to some cult either be it Angels and Demons, unearthing the secrets of Vatican city or the davinci code, finding the blood line of Jesus Christ or the lost symbol. Actually the Lost symbol has totally changed the way people look at the monuments in Washington DC. Did any guy who visited Washington DC before lost symbol ever think that George Washington was a freemason and everything in Washington DC has a reason why it is so? Did any person think that the earth can end because of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle??? :)

Whatever be it, the end of world, mass murders or strange cults, these books keep your mind occupied. They make you think and don’t let you feel bore even for a second and that’s what I need. And let me tell you something, these kinds of books are much better that the love stories where the heroine of the story changes her boy friend on every 2nd page. So guys, your "criminal minded" cloud is not going to make any difference.
